So I get perturbed that you always see magazine articles or TV shows with the "Greatest Guitarists of All-Time". Where's the bass player love? It's right here.
I purposely left out Jazz players. I know there are some really great ones (Jaco Pastorius, Victor Wooten) but I don't know enough about Jazz to include them on my list.

WHERE IS FLEA???
Paul Goddard - Atlanta Rhythm Section
umm, mike dirnt anyone? he is talented, even if you dont like punk rock or green day.
for real chili peppers have one of the best ever, so i now discredit everything written on this page
THANK YOU!!! The sound of Mike Dirnts bass playing is my favorite sound in the world, it's what got me into playing bass.
Great list! I was looking all around for lists where all my favorites would be in, and so far, this is the first time I found what I was looking for. Also, I can’t wait for that drummer list to be released! I hope to see more posts like this where all band players (as well as those using mandolin picks for instance) are fairly recognized. Thanks a lot for sharing!
Rick Finch is a superb bassist
Flea is like THEE best...so
UH! Not so good of a list. As has been pointed out already: Where is Flea? Where is Mike Starr from Alice in Chains? ahh forget it. This list is your personal opinion and obviously based in the music that you personally listen too! Oh yeah. GENE SIMMOMS!!!! Are you F'n kidding me. He knows all of three or four chords and knows nothing about creative bass playing!!
